My 5 random and/or weird facts about myself:

1) When I am in the car I always look at tag numbers. I will divide the numbers in my head. For example if it is 3AB696, I will divide 3 into 696. It is weird I know. I also hate personalized tags especially the ones that do not make sense to me.

2) When I was pregnant, washing the dishes made me gag.

3) I have to hang my clothes in order in my closet. Coats, then dresses, then skirts, jeans, long sleeved shirts, quarter-length sleeves, short sleeves, and then tank tops/sleeveless. I do the same thing with Hannah's clothes.

4) All of our exciting events have happened on the 23rd day of the month. We were married 10/23, found out we were expecting 12/23 (the year after we were married), and then Hannah was born 8/23.

5) I am scared of the dark and tight spaces. I would die if the power when out while I was on an elevator!!

Rings, Snow and Birthday Parties

I know, strange title. I haven't been able to wear my wedding rings since I was about 5 months pregnant with Hannah. I try every once in a while to shove them on but they have been too tight. Well, Friday night I decided to try again and they went on!!! I was so excited. They are still a little tight but they will go on and off without too much trouble (or pain)! Josh said oh good we are finally married again! Goof-ball!

With all the prediction of the snow, I expected to wake up Saturday morning to a winter wonderland. Josh went hunting and Hannah got up at 5:45! I looked out the window and only saw rain. I was disappointed. Hannah & I piddled around the house, I got on the computer for an hour or so. When I went in the kitchen, I looked out the window and it was snowing!! It snowed pretty hard and we had a good dusting of snow. It was enough to play in. I bundled Hannah up and we went out to play. Hannah didn't really understand but she enjoyed being outside. She also enjoyed the fact that I let her eat it. We played outside for a good hour. By the time we walked around the yard a few times, it had turned to mush! So, we went back inside to watch Barney. Hannah fell asleep and I decided I was going to scrapbook a while. I love to scrapbook but I don't have much time. It is hard to drag everything out when Hannah is around because she will be grabbing and tearing. SHe is just so curious and can't stand to be left out of anything. So, I am behind on Hannah's scrapbooks. Hannah slept for a good 2 hours and I am caught up to 6 months old! Only 1 year left to catch up on! Oh well! Josh came home early from hunting. I made taco soup and we spent the rest of the night playing with Hannah. Until I got a craving for ice cream. We headed off to Dairy Queen for a strawberry chocolate covered waffle bowl! YUMMY! So much for my diet! Don't worry I am back on today!

Sunday night was Levi's birthday party! I think he had a good one. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LEVI!!!

Yesterday I went to buy groceries. While there I bought "The Biggest Loser" workout tape. I did the first level this morning and only 3 hours later I am already sore!!! I couldn't even do the whole thing! It was very challenging but I am looking forward to getting into shape!

This and That!

This week I have decided that it was time to get serious about loosing some of this baby weight! Everyone says you just had the baby but I think 17 months is too long to say that! LOL! Anyway, I have decided to write down what I eat every day. That helps because it is a little embarrassing to actually read what I have eaten - 10 Hershey kisses for breakfast sounds good at the time but sounds bad later. I have also been trying to exercise everyday. This has been a challenge for me. I have been doing Pilates. I like it a lot. The DVD I have has five 10 minute workouts. That works for me because some days I only have 10 minutes to spare! If I have a little more time I can do 2 or 3 of them. Anyway, I am seeing some results.

Hannah's new saying is "I want to watch Barney." She will repeat this until you put a DVD in for her to watch. As a matter of fact, as I type she is holding the cover to her Barney video saying "I want Barney!" Now she is quietly sitting in the recliner watching Barney. She needs some new Barney DVDs. So, I guess the Easter Bunny can bring a few videos. She also likes Curious George. She calls him "Gurge." It comes on at 5:00 pm and that is wonderful because she will sit in her highchair and watch it while I start dinner. THANK YOU PBS!! She only knows the characters on PBS because we are still in the dark ages and do not have cable. I don't complain. I watch enough television as it is and I don't have an extra bill every month.

Well I better get off the computer and get busy. Our retreat is this weekend and I have lots to do to prepare for it. They are saying it may snow 1-4 inches on Saturday. We may be snowed in at the camp, which I think would be fun. (for a little while anyway!) Maybe it won't be too bad! Hope everyone has a great weekend!

The year 2008 is off to a great start! Emily and Clay spent the night with us on Friday night. They are funny kids. I introduced them to the game "Pass the Pigs." They loved it! They also keep Hannah very entertained so I got some house work done. It was wonderful to get a little bit done without her sweet little hands pulling on my leg or pulling out the things I had just put away. The only problem was that Hannah didn't want to sleep. I am guessing she was just excited that they were here, but she would not sleep. Finally around 3:00 she couldn't take it anymore and gave up the fight. She wouldn't take a nap on Saturday either. Amy picked up Emily around 11:00 and Clay stayed until 3:00 or so. As soon as he left, she passed out! I let her sleep a little bit but had to wake her up. Saturday was a lazy day for me. We played many games of pass the pig. After Clay left and Hannah took a nap, I cleaned up a little more and watched Grey's Anatomy.

My best friend in this world, Brandi came by to see us. By the time she got here Hannah and Josh were in bed. She is pregnant and I finally got to see what Brandi looks like with a belly! She is adorable. She also had her ultrasound pictures. It was a little fuzzy but I can tell that he will be precious! :) By the way, it is a boy! Now I can start to look for boy stuff. That will be fun.

Sunday after church we lazed around the house and did nothing. I had lots to do but figured it could wait. After Sunday night services, we had a meeting to plan for our church retreat that is coming up in 2 weeks. This is the third annual retreat and promises to be as much fun as the last 2 years!

The next few weeks are going to be very busy. Lads to Leaders Convention is coming up in a few months and a lot of preparation goes into it the last weeks before we go. I hope the kids are ready to scrapbook like maniacs because we have a lot to do! By the way, I need to know your opinion. The convention is held at the Opryland Hotel. It is always extremely crowded, jam-packed with activities, and lots of walking. I know Hannah will not want to ride in her stroller as much as I will want her to. So, I was thinking that I could get a baby harness. It sounds so bad but for this setting ONLY I was thinking that it would be a good thing. Josh says he doesn't like it because it reminds him of an animal. He always hated to see children in the stores with one on. We probably won't do it but I was just curious what everyone thinks about it. I think it is a funny subject and would like to hear your thoughts. I am sure that everyone has a different opinion on it. Let me know what you think!

2008!!!

We had a GREAT Christmas! We have been running non stop for the past two weeks! I wanted to post the pictures from all of our family gatherings (we went to five) but I don't have the time to wait on this slow computer. Maybe 2008 will bring DSL internet to our house! We did get a chance to go to the zoo for zoolight safari. It was a lot of fun. Santa was very good to Hannah. She got a kitchen, Cabbage Patch baby, stroller for her baby, books, and lots of other stuff. She was tired of opening the gifts before it was over! All of our family and friends were also very good to Hannah. Thank you! She is a very well dressed and well entertained child! I was very happy with Christmas but I am glad that it is over! That is unusual for me but I started too early and have been thinking about it for too long!

Now the new year has begun! I am excited about 2008! I am not making any resolutions this year. I have in my mind the things I need to change about myself and I will work toward my goals. I think we should evaluate ourselves everyday and make sure that we are what God wants us to be. I was reflecting on last year at this time. I couldn't imagine Hannah walking and talking - now she is doing both. She walks like a drunk lady but she gets where she is going fast! She is saying so many things now. This morning she woke up and said "Daddy!" She was looking around the house for him. I told her daddy was at work. So she started saying "Daddy work." She repeats everything we say now. She is getting pretty good at counting to ten. She knows where the 2,3, 5, 8, & 10 go but I have to fill in the rest. She is learning. When you sing the alphabet to her she can plug in the G, P, & Z. Not bad for a 16 month old! I knew she was smart like her mommy! Just kidding! I just can't believe she is so big and I am sure I will saying the same thing this time next year! Where does the time go?! 2007 was a good year for our family! I can't wait to see what 2008 holds for us. I am praying it will be filled with blessings and happiness - not only for my family but your family as well!
