So much to say...

Hannah is finally better. She was sick from Tuesday to Friday. However, she is back to her normal self. She has her appetite back and she is all over the place again! I finally got a few pictures of her "fang" as we like to call it. It is on the left side of her mouth(your right) - see below...

Saturday we went to David & Susan's to swim. It was Hannah's first time in the pool. She didn't like it very much. It was a little cold. After we left their house, we went to my mom & dad's to eat dinner. The boys were watching the fight (Ultimate Fighting). Emily's birthday was Friday so we had a cake for her. HAPPY "8th" BIRTHDAY, Emily!! I can't believe that she is eight already! Sunday was the usual day - Worship, Chinese, Target, Worship again, Working on VBS, & then Pizza Hut with the usual Sunday crowd. Monday we went to David & Susan's house. We ate & swam. Hannah got in and this time she enjoyed it. She would have occasional moments of panic but she was fine. She even got in the float for a little while. She enjoyed chewing on the handle and the shark float. Pictures are below. The first two are from Saturday. The last two are from Monday.

We had a great weekend! This week we are just getting ready for VBS. I am teaching the cradle roll class. So I am trying to come up with material and songs to go along with the stories. Hannah is trying her best to cut her other fang so she has been a little on the cranky side. She is not back to her good sleeping habits since last week threw her off schedule. We also bought her a gate to keep her in the living room when we do not feel like chasing her all over the house. As you can see from the picture below she does NOT like it. She is getting better at pulling up and has been trying to find ways to get down without falling. It doesn't always work and we have had a lot of bumps on the head. My prediction is that she will be standing on her own in a few weeks. She has been saying "Da-da" and "Ma-ma." She is growing up too fast. Only 3 more months until her birthday. I am excited about her party and have already been buying stuff! I am just not ready because I know it means she is growing up! :(

Another First for Hannah

Unfortunately this first is not a good one! Hannah had her first stomach virus! She woke up yesterday morning around 3:30 with a sick tummy. I called Josh & then I called my mom. I told you in my mother's day post that my most was the best! I called her around 5:00 am and she stopped by the store for some pedialyte and other things she knew we would need before she went to work! THANK YOU, MOM! Hannah seemed to be doing better until around 12:30 in the afternoon, then she was VERY sick. She was crying and so was I! It was so hard to see my little baby feeling so bad. I called the doctor and after receiving very helpful information from Dr. Walley's nurse, Ann we avoided a trip to the emergency room! One great thing I love about Dr. Walley's office is they have an after hours number. Just because you are the one in charge, doesn't always mean you know what to do. It is nice to know that I can call on them and let them help me make the decisions about a sick child. I will have to say that this experience was the hardest one yet as a parent! She seems to be better today. She FINALLY let me lay her down in her bed, so that is a start. Plus, she ate a little applesauce and had an ounce of milk. Poor baby she is so hungry but I don't want to push it. Maybe after her nap she will feel even better! Now that she is well, let's say a prayer for Josh & me!

WHAT??!!

I am a little upset this morning that Melinda Doolittle was voted off American Idol! I think she deserved to win. I think Blake & Jordin have talent, but I thought Melinda was the most consistent singer. I think I need to quit watching reality tv! Usually the one that I am pulling for never wins and I end up getting mad. Then again I don't ever vote so it is really my fault for not helping them along. Oh well, my prediction is that Jordin will win. Who is your pick to win American Idol? Anyone watching the Bachelor? If so, who do you think he will pick?

It won't be long...

Hannah will be standing on her own and then walking. She is pulling up anywhere she can lately. When I went to get her out of bed this morning she was standing up in her bed. Josh will be lowering the bed as low as it will go when he gets home tonight!

I am worn out!!

Addi loved the yard sale!

Look at all of this stuff!!!

Happy Birthday, Clay Bear!

Spiderman has a little icing left on his web!

My Mother's Day present!

It was a very busy weekend! Saturday was the yard sale that we had to raise money for Indian Creek Youth Camp. Friday night we met at the church building to price some of the items. Hannah spent the night away from home for the first time on Friday night. She spent the night with Paul, Kim, Addi, & Levi. Kim said she did great. I am glad that she didn't keep Kim up all night. It was strange going home without Hannah. I handled it well. It did take me a little longer to get to sleep but I knew she was in good hands.

Saturday morning we met at the church building at 5:30 am to begin hauling stuff to the yard sale sight. We had a fun, interesting, and successful day. I left the yard sale around 1:30. I bathed Hannah and put her down for a nap then jumped in the shower and got ready for Clay's Birthday party. He turned 4 years old on Saturday. He had a Spiderman party. The kids played in the pool with water guns and they had a slip n' slide. He had a very good birthday! Kim & Addi rode with Hannah & I. We didn't get home until 8:30. Hannah was worn out and so was I. She slept well Saturday night.

Today was Mother's Day. Josh got up early and went to get us breakfast. I was thinking the breakfast was going to be my present. He told me Happy Mother's Day but never did mention a present. So I got ready and when I walked out the door there was a beautiful hanging basket of flowers with a sign that said "Happy Mother's Day." I was surprised and happy because I have been wanting to buy some hanging baskets for our porch. After church we went to eat at Habaneros with Josh's family. We came home and we all took a nap. Then we went to 6th Avenue to church to be with my family. Kyle & Jan had us over to their new house and we ate dinner there. We just got home and I am worn out!

Also, Hannah FINALLY cut her first tooth! She is unique. She cut her eye tooth first (one of her fangs) . The other will be in probably this week. It is swollen and closer to the skin. I will try to get some good pictures and post on here ASAP.

Funniest thing heard all weekend (besides would you like to wear this dress to the Chinese restaurant with me tonight? - Hee-Hee):
This question was asked to several small children - Why was Noah saved on the ark? The real answer because he obeyed God, the child's answer "Because it floats!" LOL - I love kids!!!!

Happy Mother's Day

God knew that little ones need love
so He created mothers
With understanding hearts and
gentle hands that care for others...
They feed us and they hug us
and they help us find our things...
Then later on, they step aside
and let us try our wings...
We know they are always on our side
whatever may befall,
That's why we need them just as much
when we're no longer small...
Yes, God created mothers
to give love their whole lives through...
That's why they're treasured very much
especially one like you!
I found this poem funmunch.com and it reminded me of my mom! I have the best mom in the world! I can't even express how much my mom means to me. She has always sacrificed and been there for me. She is a Godly woman and has taught me so much! God blessed me with a loving, caring, considerate, patient mother. I thank Him for her every day. Hannah loves her Nonnie. Her first smile was at Nonnie. Thank you mom for all you have done for me and all you will do.
I also have the best mother-in-law in the world. She is not the stereotypical mother-in-law. She is also a Godly woman and I have a lot to learn from her. When I hear people complain about their mother-in-law's I just have to sit back and listen because I have nothing bad to say! I also thank God for her. She is a great mother and raised a wonderful son! She is also a wonderful Granna and Hannah lights up when she sees her.
SO....

to both of you! I love you.
This is also a special Mother's Day because it will be my first. I always thought I knew what my mom was thinking/feeling. Then I realized that I didn't know how much work and patience it took to be a mom until I was a mom. Someone e-mailed this poem to me and I thought I would share....

Before I was a Mom I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.
Before I was a Mom - I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Chewed on.
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
I slept all night.
Before I was a Mom I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.
Before I was a Mom I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put it down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.
Before I was a Mom - I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.
Before I was a Mom - I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much before I was a Mom.
To all the moms out there this one is for you.
And remember that behind every successful mother... Is a basket of dirty laundry.
Happy Mother's Day!

We think....

Kim went today for her ultrasound to find out if she is having my niece or my nephew. They aren't 100% sure but they think it is a girl! Kim will have another ultrasound in 8 weeks to see if the baby will be a little more cooperative. Tina put the curse on Kim!

Over the Hill

Hannah with my cousin Meagan

Hannah with her cousins Emily & Clay
The Cake! Jan & Carla made it.

Hannah with the birthday girl!

My family - parents, siblings, sibling-in-laws :), nephews, & nieces

My aunt Carla & Mom

Tomorrow is my mom's 50th Birthday! Saturday night we had a surprise party for her! I think she suspected that we were up to something so she wasn't totally shocked but she was a little surprised at least. She didn't want us to do anything. If you know my mom she doesn't like for anyone to give her the praise she deserves. We couldn't let her get away without having a 50th birthday party. We were all very nice - there wasn't anything about being over the hill there. My mom is the best! I don't know what I would do without her!!! Happy Birthday, Mom!!
Tomorrow will be a good day. Not only will my mom turn 50 but we will find out if I am having a niece or a nephew! I can't wait!!!!

I have my very own Curious George

Hannah has become very curious lately. She is into everything. She has figured out to get the movies off the shelf and into the floor, she finds every piece of scrap paper in the floor, she tries to pull my scrapbooks off the shelf, and she tries to push buttons on the DVD player. I know this is just the beginning. She is a ball of energy. I told you I would be in trouble when she starts to walk! I keep my scrapbooking stuff in the corner of our living room. There is a ton of paper/pictures in that corner. I thought Hannah was oblivious to it but she has discovered that there is something there that she wants. Yesterday she started playing with the blanket that I keep in the basket. Then she started to get in the basket so I ran for the camera. It took her a few minutes but she got in the basket. She got the package of paper that she wanted but I had to take it away from her. That broke her heart but she moved on to pull the movies off the shelf! Isn't she the sweetest, cutest little curious child?!

It's been a while...

Has it already been a week since my last post? Things have been very busy! After a very enjoyable girl's night in at Rachel's house on Friday night, Emily Sanders & I got up early and went to the Jr. League yard sale on Saturday. Mom kept Hannah for me so I was off mommy duty for a few hours. I love being with Hannah but it was nice to have a break and not have to worry about bottles & dirty diapers. I was there to shop in peace. When we got to the yard sale, the police were directing traffic so Emily & I decided we would just find the closest parking space and walk. We thought we were being smart since neither of us like traffic or shopping for a parking place. We shopped for an hour or so. We met up with Susan & Kim who already had a load of stuff. I ended up buying an exersaucer (sp?), a few books, pj's for Hannah, an outfit for Hannah, a dress, a very large toy, and a booster seat. Emily bought a lot of books and a Christmas decoration that was in a very bulky box. Now parking across the street a mile away didn't seem like such a good idea! After we paid for our stuff we began to haul everything to the car. Everything was going along fine until the large toy I bought began to fall apart as we were crossing the street. We dropped pieces all along the highway and people began to honk at us. Emily ran back to get one of the pieces and then another fell off so she kicked it. The piece went flying across the street and landed in a very stinky drainage ditch. I was on the side of the road about to wet my pants from laughing so hard! Needless to say we left the shelf in the nasty water. Luckily it wasn't an important piece. We had to drive across the street to pick up the rest of the toy that we dropped on the other side of the road. I know people thought we were crazy! Maybe you had to be there to think this is funny but if you could have seen us I am sure you would be laughing!

Today I saw something that made me roll my eyes! :0) I was in Babies R' Us, which is one of my favorite stores. (I could spend hours in that store! I know where everything is but I still love to browse around in there.) I was looking in the "safety" section. I think you should baby proof your house - outlet plugs, drawer locks, toilet locks, etc. but then I saw something that caught my eye. It was a pad to put on your babies knees so they could crawl. They looked like a less padded bicycle pad with gauze wrapped around it. Are you kidding me? I almost laughed out loud. I will do anything to protect Hannah from being hurt but babies knees are made for them to be able to crawl on them! Do we need to protect them from something natural? Unless you are letting them crawl on rocks, I think their little knees will be okay. Plus Hannah would find a way to get it off and it would be in her mouth. That is just one more way to get people's money.

Hannah update - Since she said Da-da last week I haven't heard it come out of her mouth since then. I will keep working with her and let you know. She did pull up for the first time at church Sunday night! She will not pull up at home but this morning in Ladies Bible Class she pulled up on the bench again. My baby is getting so big!!!! I am in trouble when she starts walking because she is already very curious!

Well I think I have blogged about a little bit of everything today! I hope I didn't bore you too bad! Happy Hump Day!
