Kids Market

Last night Amy & I went to the Kids Market sale! I found some great deals and am now ready for summer so I can break out all of these cute dresses! (I know I said she didn't need any but I bought 6 anyway!) I spent $66.96 and this is what I got... (it is not a great pic but you get the idea)

I bought 6 dresses (two of them are Gymboree brand), 1 pair of swim shoes, 1 pair of Timberland flip flops, 2 short & t-shirt sets, 2 pairs of pj's, 8 t-shirts, 1 maternity dress, 1 maternity shirt (both Motherhood brand), MegaBlock blocks, & a sleeping bag! I am so proud of myself! I may go back when it is 50% off but I probably need to resist the temptation.

The best part is that when Hannah got up this morning she saw everything on the chair and said "This is all so beautiful! Thank you, Mommy!" Then she gave me a big hug. I love that she is so appreciative of everything. She is now playing with her blocks and wearing her flip flops (even though she only has on a diaper). It is a GREAT Friday.

Doctor's Visit

Yesterday I went for my regular doctor's visit. We did not get to hear the baby's heartbeat this time which again makes me worry a little. It is not uncommon to be unable to pick it up before 12 weeks. However since they heard it last week at 10 weeks the doctor wants me to come back in two weeks to make sure everything is okay. He didn't feel that anything was wrong or he would have sent me for an ultrasound. He said everything was looking normal and the baby is probably behind the pubic bone making it hard to detect the heartbeat. I wish I would have told him I really wanted to have an ultrasound done but I didn't. I will just have to wait 2 weeks to make sure everything is okay. That is torture but it is better than 4 weeks! Anyway I am positive that everything is okay. It is just so hard not to worry but I am just trusting in God that He will take of this little one for us!

When I was pregnant with Hannah I didn't worry about anything! My pregnancy with her was like reading a textbook! I never really understood some people's paranoia about pregnancy until now. Although this post doesn't sound positive, I am really being positive. I am not a negative thinker. I will think positively until I have no reason to think that way anymore! I would just appreciate your prayers!

A Little Friday Funny

Hannah loves books. She brought a book about Joshua & the walls of Jericho to me the other day and said "Mommy, will you read this Josh and the Wall of Cherry Coke to me?" LOL!

Happy Friday!

The last couple of days have been so wonderful! Sunday afternoon we met to work on the group scrapbook. We stayed all afternoon and got so much accomplished. We only had 6 people originally working on it (a few more showed up and worked about an hour or so). We got 70 pages done. We are seeing the end in sight. I am so proud of our youth group. They are great kids and a joy to be around. Plus they don't make me feel to old to hang out with them :0)

Monday I called my doctor because I had another spot of the staph infection pop up on my leg. So they fit me in that afternoon. Dr. Woods gave me another antibiotic to take for 10 days and an ointment to put on it. Hopefully this will knock all of it out of my system. It still makes me nervous about taking the medicine but I still don't have a choice.

Hannah went with me to the doctor. She was very interested in everything they did. She just stared the lady down that pricked my finger. When we got back to the waiting room, she said "let me see your finger." I showed her. She said "Awww it's okay. That was not nice!" She thought they were hurting me on purpose. I tried to explain but I don't think she really got it. She was an angel and sat so still while the nurse tried to find the heartbeat of the baby. It took her forever to find it and when she did it was so faint it was almost hard to hear. She couldn't get an exact number on how fast it was beating but she said somewhere between 150-160. This nurse was wonderful she tried for 5 minutes to find it and I am so glad she did. I thought I remembered that we didn't hear Hannah's until my 14 week visit and after looking at my scrapbook, I was right. They couldn't find it on the 11 week. So that made me feel great!!

Yesterday my mom took off work since my niece and nephews were out of school and we went to visit my grandparents in Decatur. We stopped in Cullman on the way and ate at Cracker Barrell. Then we visited with them for a while. We all went to the Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge. It was a lot of fun. We saw geese, ducks, turtles, and even a beaver swimming. Then we went back to the little museum they have with stuffed animals. They had a table that had different things you could touch like a deer antler, pine cones, bird feathers, etc. Hannah marches over to the table and picks up a fox tail. When she picked it up she had a look of terror on her face and threw it on the table. She screamed "WHAT IS THAT?" It was hysterical and maybe you had to be there to really appreciate the look on her face!

After we left there, we went back to my grandparents house for dinner. Then we came home. It was a GREAT day and I am glad that mom suggested that we go.

Great News...

This news I have is the greatest news that every human needs to hear. The news is that God sent His only Son, Jesus to die for you! Isn't that the best news you have heard?! Who cares that the economy is bad? Who cares that the Bachelor dumped the girl he picked for the other girl? Who cares that the girl is now on Dancing With The Stars (which is weird, yet I am intrigued to watch)? Who cares that Katie Holmes got hair extensions? All of these things are silly in comparison to the fact that Christ died for you, yes YOU! Sometimes I get caught up in the day to day stuff and I forget that I have the greatest gift in the world. It is Jesus.

God made a way for each and every one of us to be saved. All we have to do is listen to Him. If you want to be saved & be called a Christian there are "steps" (as we sometimes call them)that you must take to accept God's invitation to you. The first thing you must do is Hear the Word of God - Romans 10:17 "So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God." Of course, you hear God's Word by studying the Bible.

After you hear the Word of God you must believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. John 8:24 "Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins: for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins."

Once you believe, you must repent of your sins. This means to "turn away" or leave the sins behind. It doesn't mean you have to be perfect (you never will be - we all fall short) but we must try with every ounce of our being to do as God commanded. Acts 2:38 "Repent and let everyone of you be baptized in the name of the Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."

You must confess that Jesus Christ is God's Son. Romans 10:10 "For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."

After you confess you must be baptized into Christ for the remission of sins. Acts 22:16 "Now why are you waiting? Arise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord." Romans 6:3-4 "Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized unto His death? Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father even so we should also walk in newness of life."

Then you must continue to live faithful for the rest of your life. Revelation 2:10 "...be faithful until death and I will give you the crown of life."

Isn't this the greatest news you have ever heard?!! It will change your life forever in the best way possible. Will all your problems disappear? No, you will still have problems. Will all your temptations miraculously go away? Nope you will still have temptation to deal with.

However, you will have God on your side. You will be happy if you will live the way God wants you to live. You will have HOPE! You will know that when you die, you will live forever in Heaven praising God for eternity. It will be worth any heartache, trial, or temptation we face in this world. Even if our crazy government takes everything we own, it won't matter because they can't take our salvation from us. We can only separate ourselves from God - no one else can make that choice for us! If you aren't already a Christian, I urge you to seek out what the Bible says and do what God commanded. If you want to enroll in a *FREE* Bible course email me at studythebiblewithme@yahoo.com. I will send one to you or answer any question.

We haven't really been doing much around our house lately except for playing outside. We have had beautiful weather and I have spring fever! I love getting out of this house and enjoying the sunshine.

Saturday I took all of my stuff to the Kids Market and got there early enough to get into the early, early sale on Thursday night. I was really excited because our retreat will be that Saturday and I wouldn't be able to make it. After taking my stuff in I got so excited to shop! I hope I can control myself. I have already told Amy to not let me buy any red or black maternity shirts and no more black & white maternity dresses! I am drawn to these colors and I always seem to buy something that looks similar to the same clothes I have. Hannah doesn't need that much. She is set on dresses but she needs some play clothes and shoes. This will be my mission. I am sure I will buy something she doesn't need just because it is really cute. I love summer clothes!

My staph infection is much better. I was worried for a few days that it wasn't going to go away with the antibiotic but then it just started looking better. I was relieved because I didn't want to do another round of medicine. I have been feeling very pregnant lately. I have still had afternoon sickness and I am extremely tired. I am considering these two things a great blessing! I have two weeks to go until I go back to the doctor and I am ready to hear this little one's heartbeat!

The past week has been WILD and not necessarily in a good way. Last Thursday my car's "check engine soon" light came on. It ended up needing to go to the shop to replace a part. Luckily it didn't cost too much money but it was money we really didn't need to be spending. That is always frustrating. Luckily we got it back the same day we took it because Josh took it to the man who works on his work truck. Also on Thursday I noticed a little bump on my stomach and by Saturday it had tripled in size. After talking to a very ignorant nurse at Dr. Snowden's office (who tried to convince me it was an ingrown hair) I went to a doc in the box. It wasn't an ingrown hair but a staph infection! I was scared to death to take medicine with the baby being so little but I really don't have a choice. So I am on an antibiotic to try to clear it up. It makes me even MORE nervous than I have been about everything. Everyone is trying to convince me it is okay but it is hard to stop the worrying and wild thoughts!

The end of the weekend has been better. Sunday it snowed! I couldn't wait to wake Hannah up on Sunday morning to show her. We didn't get a chance to play in it before we left because I was trying to finish cooking lunch for our gospel meeting. When I held her up to the window, she whispered "It's snowing" in the sweetest voice. She was so excited. The drive to church was BEAUTIFUL! After lunch Hannah and Josh got out and played with all the other "kids" that were having snowball fights and building snowmen. She loved it. I am sure she her legs were cold because she only had on tights and dress shoes but she didn't care. She was having so much fun! I didn't take many pictures but below are a few of the better ones I took.

Our gospel meeting has been great! David Sain has done an excellent job. Tonight is the last night and we would love to have you visit us. Hope to see you there!
