Birthday Pictures - Part 1

Yesterday was a GREAT day! Hannah slept until 10:00 and I got a lot done for her party before she got out of bed. The only problem was that I had planned an outside party with a little pool, sprinkler, water guns, & water balloons. Hurricane Fay blew in and rained us in the house. We had around 40 people in our house. Everyone was crammed in like sardines but I don't think anyone minded. I have posted several pictures from Hannah's Curious George birthday. I think she had a wonderful birthday. We went to Walmart to pick up the cake & balloons and she was telling everyone "it's my birthday and I'm two!" She is such a little social butterfly. Here are some pictures I took before the party began. Her little t-shirt said "The Birthday Princess." Then at the bottom it said "it is my day." Of course, she had the Super Girl cape.

This is how close everyone sat in our house! So many people love Hannah! She is a blessed girl.

This is a picture of her cake! I thought it was adorable.

Hannah with her cake. I told her not to touch it so I could take a picture. When Levi came up she kept saying "No touch it!" She is so bossy!

She loved everyone singing to her. She likes to be the center of attention. I didn't get a picture of her blowing out her candles because I had to hold her up so she wouldn't fall in the cake. She blew them out without spitting on the cake! YEAH!

Enjoying the cake.

She was hilarious opening her presents. She opened every card and looked at it. She got so much stuff and no duplicates. She got dolls, books, coloring books, crayons, stickers, puzzles, clothes, money, movies, a keyboard, a sandbox, and many more toys. We appreciate all of the gifts!

This is Hannah cracked up about something she thought was funny. It kills me when she laughs like this!

This is my favorite gift she received. I only say it is my favorite because it was handmade. Rachel painted this desk for her. She did a great job. Hannah really needed this because the other day she was coloring in a coloring book and decided my furniture needed a little color too. She has been banned from sitting on the furniture to color. Now she will have her own place to color!

I know this was a long post but I had so many pictures to post. Stayed tuned for the games we played at the party.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HANNAH!!!

Today is Hannah's 2nd birthday! I always heard parents say they grow up so fast and never gave much thought to it until Hannah was born 2 years ago. It is true that they grow up fast. I would love to go back for one day and hold that sweet little 8 pounds, 4 ounce girl again but I know that she is growing up. She has brought more joy to my life than I ever could have imagined. Sometimes hearing "mommy, whatcha doin'" five hundred times a day can be a little nerve racking but I know one day I will miss those moments. Just like I miss holding her as a tiny baby at 3:00 in the morning rocking her back to sleep. I try to remind myself to live in the moment with her and not get in any rush for her to be past a stage (even if it is an annoying one :) She is such a sweet baby and makes me laugh at least 100 times a day. She is learning about her world and it is fun to see the world through her eyes. We have been talking about her birthday and she said "mommy, I want to open my parents." I said parents or presents and she said "parents." Then she giggled. She knows when she is being funny now. One year ago today she was walking but she was stumbling around. Today she is running all over the place, she carries on conversations (some you can understand, some you can not), she makes jokes and acts silly, & she is a little daredevil. She is my heart and I hope she has the best birthday. I am praying that she has a great year being 2 years old.

This is Hannah two years ago today!

One year ago! Look at her little teeth about to pop through. Now she has a mouth full!

I took this picture several weeks ago. (she is still asleep so I don't have a picture from today) Billy & Mary bought Hannah a super girl cape and she LOVES it. She runs around screaming "Supew grrl!" SO CUTE!! She will hate me one day for posting this picture :)

In other news, we finally have high speed internet! YEAH!!! It only took 1 minute to upload these pictures. With dial-up it would have taken me 30 minutes. I am so excited! I am going to post pictures from the beach soon. I know it was almost 2 months ago but they are cute and thought you would like to see them.

Last Thursday Amy & I took Emily, Clay, & Hannah to Chuck E. Cheese's. They had a great time. They had a Barney ride and Hannah wanted to ride it. I put her on it, put the token in, and as soon as it came on she began to scream & shake. She was scared to death of it. She would not ride any of the rides but she played basketball and played on the slide. They were all smiles when we left!

Friday morning I went to Hobby Lobby because their scrapbook stickers were 50% off. Hannah was running around the shopping cart and playing on the bottom of it. We were the only ones on the aisle so I was letting her run around me. Then she started screaming bloody murder!! I mean SCREAMING! I look down and she crawled on the bottom of the shopping cart and her leg was stuck in the slats on the bottom. I couldn't figure out to get her out and a crowd was gathering around to watch me. I was very frustrated and felt bad for Hannah because she was screaming and I know it hurt. I finally calmed both of us down and got her leg free. Don't you just love people to stare at you and not help?! I have learned that as a parent you have to get used to the idea of people staring at you thinking you are a terrible parent. If you spank your child in the store, some stare in disgust. If you don't spank them and they are acting up you get the same stare. I am sure the people standing around me were saying "why did that lady let her kid crawl under the shopping cart?" Oh well, she is fine except for a fading bruise!

Friday night, we went to Decatur for my papaw Shadix's 85th birthday! He shares the same birthday with my brother, Adam. My cousin, Shannon was born 2 days after Adam. So we celebrated each birthday with an Auburn cake! Shannon flew in from New York & my uncle was here from Idaho. We had a really good time seeing everyone and being with our family! This is the only picture I took all night. It is of the birthday boys and girl!

We have big plans for the 4th & then we leave for a family vacation at the beach! Stayed tuned for pictures!!
