18 months old!

Hannah is now 18 months old and she went Monday for her check-up. She is doing great! She weighed almost 24 pounds and was 33 1/2 inches long. That put her in the 50% of weight and 95% of height. She is still tall and skinny. I knew she had grown because her clothes are getting smaller. It is good that the seasons are about to change so I don't have to buy new winter clothes and then new summer clothes. Hannah has become a Barney fanatic! I am on Barney overload but Hannah can't get enough. She asks to watch him at all hours of the day. I am just so tired of the songs. I go to wash my hands and sing "Squishy, Squishy, Squashy, Give your hands a washy." I ask Hannah to clean up and sing "Clean up, Clean up everybody, everywhere." It goes on and on. Why do mother's brains turn to mush when they have children?! :0)

Not too much is going on around here. I am just trying to get everything together for the group scrapbook. We go to Nashville in about 3 weeks and we have a lot of scrapbooking to do. Plus we have a Gospel meeting starting on the 9th. It is about to become our busy time of year! Well, I better go. Bayley is here today and she needs a bottle. Plus Hannah is screaming she wants lotion & Barney - what a combination!

Valentine's Day

I know you are all on the edge of your seat, waiting to hear about my Valentine's Day. :0) I will say that I have never been into Valentine's Day. I think it is nice and I do expect it to be acknowledged in our house. However, I don't expect gifts. This Valentine's Day we decided that we were not going to buy each other gifts. I did make Josh his favorite dinner - Chicken Casserole. Then I attempted to make a strawberry cake. It fell to pieces and looked awful. It did taste really good. How could the icing not be good? It had a stick of butter, 1 lb powder sugar, strawberries, and cool whip - come on, YUMMY! We ate it despite the looks of it. Anyway, when Josh got home from work he told me that we were going on a date on Friday night. Hannah was going to stay with Gramps and Granna. This was the best Valentine's present I could get. Hannah had been a little bit of a handful on Thursday & we haven't been out by ourselves in a long time.

Friday night we went to Petrucelli's (sp?) to eat. It was DELICIOUS! (as one sweet little boy would put it!) I love italian food. Then we went bowling. I don't think I have been bowling since our first date. It was fun, although I was TERRIBLE like always. (I took a bowling class at Faulkner and made a "C") Josh did a lot better than me. After we left the bowling alley, we went to Target. Then we rode around and looked at the houses in Mountain Brook. There are some beautiful and huge homes in that area. We had a WONDERFUL date! I am so glad that Josh planned that for us. We love Hannah but it is good to carry on a conversation with your husband without anyone screaming from the backseat of the car or trying to keep her in her highchair at dinner and not disturb the whole restaurant! My husband is the best!

Cutie Pie

I bought Hannah a new summer outfit that says "Cutie" and has a little picture of a pie next to it. I thought it fit. I mean look at this face! Can it get any cuter? She is all decked out in her Elmo attire but now her favorite is Barney. She still loves some Elmo. However, I wake up to "Mornin." (Said in the cutest and highest pitched voice you can imagine) Then it is followed by "I wan Barney" or "I wan Jurge" (which is Curious George). She is a girl that knows exactly what she wants! Just in the last few weeks my sweet baby has turned into a little girl. She wants to help me do everything - load the dishwasher, laundry, sweeping, etc. She is a good helper, although she has closed the dryer door on my arm a few times. So, now I have to give her things to put in it and she just lights up. I have to make myself take some time to let her help me. Do you moms out there find this challenging sometimes? She is just so proud of herself when I tell her what a big help she has been. It is worth the few extra minutes of time.

Hannah can say the name of every family member and most of our friends. We usually go through the list once a day. The one that is the cutest is Mary's name. When you ask her to say Mary she will say "Mack, Mack, Mack" because we sing Miss Mary Mack a lot. Tonight she got a potato and took it in the living room to Josh. She laid it in his lap and was yelling "Potato." How did she know the word "Potato"? I am amazed at how much she is learning and she surprises me all the time.

She has also been a little michevious. She has learned to climb onto the kitchen table and a week ago I caught her sitting on the table pouring pepper in her lap. Today she learned how to open the bathroom door and(when I realized that she had closed herself in the bathroom and not her room) I caught her with the toilet brush. I am not sure what she did with it before I got in there but I did wash her hands good. I am just going to convince myself she didn't put it in her mouth. We brushed her teeth, just in case! She definitely keeps me on the go!

Well I just wanted to let you know how smart, beautiful, and full of energy my little Hannah has been lately. There is not much else to blog about. I do have to say Happy Belated Birthday to Bradley, Ginger, Jasmine, Mandi, Andy, and Michelle! Hope you all had a good one. Could you people not have spread these out some?! :0) Oh well, at least they are easy to remember!
